California Condor
At eight o'clock on a summer morning; an enormous dark bird spreads his wings and rises from a ledge by a nest on the face of a waterfall cliff. Without moving his wings he soars on the lifting air currents to a mile above Southern California's citrus groves and oil wells, sprawling subdivisions and missile factories, cattle ranches and superhighways.
